A good resource I have used is a site called Sportlots. Card prices start at 20 cents and if you find a seller that has a lot of cards from a set listed you can get a pretty good deal without getting killed by shipping.
In regard to Sportlots, have you used the site much? I’m thinking about using them since I like to build sets as well.
I’m curious about the bulk shipping aspect. I wonder how long they’ll hold your cards and if there is a monthly fee to do so. I’m looking to maximize my savings on bulk purchases and shipping. Thoughts?
I am also interested in this. I have registered and plan on making an order so i can let you know. Im going through each of my unfinished sets to see what i need I’ll update once i do. But if Adam can provide any info before that will be great.
Enjoyable read. Really nice article about set building, Josh. What a great point about making base cards, even of the common players, mean something, in a world in which they’ve kinda been lost in the shuffle, as you pointed out. I’ve always wanted to build some sets, and I plan on doing so fairly soon, when I have a dedicated space where I can kinda “stretch out” my collection, finally
And Patrick, really like this idea for a recurring column, helps keep me better informed of some of the prospects for other teams, and great buys too. Well done, fellas.
Thanks Scott! It really is a good way to make those cards have some value. Plus if you just enjoy cards sorting is relaxing. If you ever need any for sets let me know!
Josh, great stuff!!! Love how you and Micah get in this together, what a cool way for some father and son bonding. I have to admit, I am not a set collector, but it brings me joy to help yinz get close. Love the channel too, and all the value you are bringing here.
Thank you Patrick! You have been a blessing in putting some of our sets together we surely thank you! Glad to be apart of this cardmunity as some call it! Alot of great help collecting and your the prospect guru of it!
I love building sets myself.
