⚾ How Many Rookie Cards of the 2025 MLB All-Stars Do You Have?
This summer classic happens on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Truist Park in Atlanta, and it’s sure to be watched by millions once again. From the Home Run Derby to the Futures Game, card collectors are quick to update their “Wanted” lists!
American League Starters!
C: Cal Raleigh, Seattle: 2022 Topps Cal Raleigh #277 RC – View on eBay!
Catchers take a little longer to develop and “The Big Dumper” hit the most home runs by a catcher before the All-Star break! Raleigh is 28 years old, but a handful of years like this and he might become Seattle’s favorite piece of cardboard in the 21st century.
1B: Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Toronto: 2019 Topps No.# Vladimir Guerrero Jr. RC – View on eBay!
Hits for power and average, face of a franchise, and immeasurable charisma – three gold facets for being a hobby favorite!
2B: Gleyber Torres, Detroit: 2018 Topps Gleyber Torres RC #699 SP – View on eBay!
3B: José Ramírez, Cleveland: 2014 Topps Jose Ramirez RC #424 – View on eBay!
The six-time All-Star could eclipse 400 home runs in his career, but he’s still a cheap pickup on eBay.
SS: Jacob Wilson, Athletics: 2025 Topps Jacob Wilson RC #314 – View on eBay!
Jack Wilson’s son has already bypassed Coby Mayo and Dylan Crews as the second-best rookie cards to get in 2025 Topps products, and his wrist injury doesn’t appear to be serious.
OF: Aaron Judge, N.Y. Yankees: 2017 Topps Aaron Judge RC #287 – View on eBay!
When Shohei Ohtani signed with the Dodgers last year, Dodgers fans and Aaron Judge celebrated like crazy! My man has an outside chance at joining the 600 home run club – something only nine other hitters have done.
OF: Riley Greene, Detroit: 2023 Topps Riley Greene RC #31 – View on eBay!
Bad News: Greene’s RC came out in the bloated, over-produced 2023 set.
Good News: The parallels of this future MVP’s come cheap!
OF: Javier Báez, Detroit: 2015 Topps Javier Baez RC #315 – View on eBay!
DH: Ryan O'Hearn, Baltimore: 2019 Topps Chrome Ryan O’Hearn RC #53
If you had O’Hearn as the only Orioles player to be starting in this year’s All-Star Game, I’d like to shadow your card purchases!
SP: Jacob deGrom, Texas: 2014 Topps Update Jacob deGrom RC #US-50
If he remains healthy, he will join the likes of Kershaw/Verlander/Scherzer in Cooperstown. Let’s just hope he doesn’t sneeze, or stub a toe, or mow his lawn, or…
Key Reserves:
Bobby Witt Jr., Kansas City: 2022 Topps Bobby Witt Jr. RC #660 SP
Junior Caminero, Tampa Bay: 2024 Topps Junior Caminero RC #628
After having a mediocre 2024, collectors cooled a bit on Caminero. After a cool start to the season, he fixed his swing and now he leads all AL third baseman in HR, RBI, extra-base hits and total bases!
Julio Rodriguez, Seattle: 2022 Topps Julio Rodriguez RC #659 SP
National League Starters!
C: Will Smith, L.A. Dodgers: 2019 Topps Update Will Smith #US245 RC
1B: Freddie Freeman, L.A. Dodgers:2011 Topps Freddie Freeman RC 145
Still a bargain, even after being a World Series hero and a nine-time All-Star!
2B: Ketel Marte, Arizona: 2016 Topps Ketel Marte RC #73
3B: Manny Machado, San Diego: 2013 Topps Manny Machado RC #270
Seven players have smacked 500 home runs and 3,000 hits – and Machado has a great chance to be the eighth. You can buy his flagship RC in a PSA 10 grade for about $50… for now.
SS: Francisco Lindor, N.Y. Mets: 2015 Topps Francisco Lindor RC #US82
OF: Ronald Acuña Jr., Atlanta: 2018 Topps Ronald Acuna Jr. RC Bat-Down SP #698
Acuña is now a five-time All-Star – and a two-time torn-ACL survivor – and he’s just 27 years old. This Venezuelan superstar posted a 40/70 season two years ago, and his .331 batting average would be tied for third if he had enough at-bats to qualify.
OF: Pete Crow-Armstrong, Chicago Cubs: 2024 Topps Pete Crow-Armstrong RC #407
Remember when everyone was clamoring for more 2024 Topps Update product? Looks like we should’ve also been stashing some 2024 Topps Series 2 product, too! Between Caminero and PCA, we might have two future league MVPs!
OF: Kyle Tucker, Chicago Cubs: 2019 Topps Kyle Tucker RC #60
DH: Shohei Ohtani, L.A. Dodgers: 2018 Topps Shohei Ohtani RC #700
One day, you will tell your grandkids about Shohei Ohtani – just make sure you have some of his cards, any cards, to give to them or they’ll be angry.
SP: Chris Sale, Atlanta: 2011 Topps Chris Sale RC #65
Key Reserves:
Fernando Tatis Jr., San Diego: 2019 Topps Fernando Tatis Jr. RC #410
Elly De La Cruz, Cincinnati: 2024 Topps Elly De La Cruz RC #141
James Wood, Washington: 2025 Topps James Wood RC #181

I was quite surprised to see which cards I had and which I didn't. Great list and a great way to get us all to look at our collections and just enjoy them for a few minutes. I am intrigued greatly to see who the NL will list of the starting pitcher this year: Skenes, Kershaw, Wheeler? I wouldn't want to have to make that decision.
Interesting article, David. Thanks for also taking the time to include eBay links. Cal Raleigh's rookie card was certainly one I did not have on my radar entering this season. However, I have to disagree in regards to Jacob DeGrom being Hall of Fame worthy, but we'll see where his stats are in 5 years. If only he was healthy and had played in the 2023 world series... He's definitely having a CY Young worthy season.
